Rune, very tellingly, says about his vocation that ‘Design is not my job it is my passion!’

He has worked with outdoor furniture design most of his professional life; having been employed by some of the biggest companies in the industry as well as doing freelance work and consultancy.

Rune’s background as a fully educated furniture designer includes 5 years of education; primarily as a combination of education as a cabinet designer and production engineer. This has given him a strong background  in understanding and developing products that fit the industry on various parameters – from aesthetics to comfort and structural integrity.

What makes Rune unique as a designer is that he is fuelled not only by the desire to deliver great product design and optimisations, but also his knowledge of the commercial side. As Rune puts it: ‘For me a good design is only a good design once it is sold to the end consumer with great happiness and in big volumes’.

He names his biggest inspiration for design and business as Mr. Lars Larsen (founder of the Lars Larsen Group).
